BRACAnalysis ® is a genetic test that detects the presence of a BRCA1 or BRCA2 gene mutation. BRCAmutations are responsible for the majority of hereditary breast and ovarian cancers. People with a mutation in either the BRCA1 or BRCA2 gene have risks of up to 87 percent for developing breast cancer and 39-63 percent for developing ovarian cancer by age 70. Mutation carriers previously diagnosed with cancer also have a significantly increased risk of developing a second primary cancer. In fact, patients with these types of mutations have an up to 64 percent chance of developing a second breast cancer by age 70.
Seralite® (FLC Serum)
Seralite® – FLC* is a rapid lateral flow test for the quantitative measurement of kappa (K) and lambda (λ) immunoglobulin free light chains (FLCs) in serum. The format of this rapid test enables a free light chain service to be offered in all clinical laboratories. This enables the provision of FLC results in ~10 minutes rather than days or weeks. With this simple to use, compact, rapid test, clinicians are able to monitor patients in “real time” supporting faster decision making.
Seralite® (FLC Urine)
Seralite®– FLC Urine is a rapid lateral flow test for the qualitative in vitro diagnostic identification of abnormal kappa (K) and lambda (λ) immunoglobulin free light chains (FLCs) in human urine using immunochromatography. Used in conjunction with clinical findings the test is useful for screening for abnormal levels of FLCs at an early stage, guiding the choice of further diagnostic investigation of suspected cases.
